About this deal

Now on to its seventh release, LogoArchive continues to surprise and delight within the context and practice of archival, reconfiguring itself with each new issue. Consenting to these technologies will allow us to process data such as browsing behaviour or unique IDs on this site. Small details include the repurposing of the “Famous Animal Logos” form by Rolf Harder for his submission to Letters As Symbols, the provocation to discover the colour values provided by Félix Beltrán and the idiosyncrasies of each designer’s handwriting. With a focus on beautiful design and unique experiences, each issue of Hey Gents Magazine features interviews with creative talents, travel recommendations, useful guides, striking photography, and careful curation of interesting products. Letters As Symbols, launched on Kickstarter, is based on Belgian graphic design pioneer Paul Ibou's collection of an unseen archive of logos designed by the leading designers of the 60s until the 80s.

Here, the paper submission forms of the past provide a counterpoint to the speed and ease at which designers can now send work to publishers, and questions whether the absence of a filter (filling in and sending out a material form and the expense of postage), and the subsequent increase in the volume of work being sent drowns can out that that may have more value to the designers of tomorrow. The Unicode values of the characters in the tables below are obtained by adding the hexadecimal base values from the "U+" header row to the index values in the left column. In input box on top section if you're using laptop or desktop, and if your are using smartphone or Tablet then you see below section area. This LogoArchive ExtraIssue offers readers a sample of Letters As Symbols and tells its story through selected logos and archival documents. Mathematical Alphanumeric Symbols is a Unicode block comprising styled forms of Latin and Greek letters and decimal digits that enable mathematicians to denote different notions with different letter styles. Christophe De Pelsemaker’s Logo Books, an online archive of pages from out-of -print publications dedicated to trademarks, is one such resource. Latin had no 'th' sound and consequently no letter to represent it; to fill this gap the Anglo Saxons imported the letter 'thorn,' 'þ', from the runic alphabet.

The logos featured in Letters As Symbols are a combination of work made by the greatest of all time and of work by contemporary known and unknown designers or agencies. The first edition of nomad contains an interview with the renowned Danish city planner Jan Gehl centred on the question: “How can major cities be designed for human life? There are literally tens of thousands of different symbols defined by Unicode compared to 256 characters defined by the extended ASCII set.
